MAKEUP FOREVER FOUNDATION - REVIEW
Wednesday, September 14, 2016
I am no make up expert but as a woman, I do know the difference between a Foundation and a Concealer. I know what Primers do and I have a faint idea about Color Correctors. I think having basic knowledge on makeup gives me the right to do a review. Now I'd like to mention that this is my first ever review on a makeup product and therefore it may not be my finest. We'll never know until I give it a shot, right?
After being bed ridden for a few days and a lousy visit to the doctor, I found myself at Sephora. While I was standing beside the Benefit Stand, just playing with all those pretty products, I was offered assistance. I asked for a foundation which offered good coverage and I was recommended to try the Make Up Forever Ultra HD Foundation. Since I had no where to reach, I allowed her to try it on my face. The fact that I am doing a review on it makes it obvious that I got it, right?
Moving on here's the Product-
Moving on here's the Product-
Product Description:
HD foundation combines flawless coverage and an extremely natural finish. The Sericite contained in HD foundation heightens the diffusion of light and intensifies the glow of the skin. Enriched with Relipidium, HD foundation moisturizes and prepares the skin for makeup. Its unusually smooth and elastic texture makes it easy to apply and a pleasure to wear. Skin texture is refined to give a very natural complexion.
My Review:
I bought this product in the shade N123, which was most similar to my original skintone.
The foundation comes in a plastic bottle with a pump dispenser.
The foundation provides great coverage and leaves my skin feeling super smooth. No kidding! Another thing I love is that 'a little goes a long way'. I am not used to this, so I am always pumping out more than what is required. But I will stop doing that in time. :)
The consistency isn't thick nor is it runny, maybe somewhere in between and it blends really well without much effort. As mentioned in the description, it does give a very natural look.
I applied it on the left side of my sister's face while she applied her regular makeup on the right and the difference was huge. If only she allowed me to post her pictures. The left portion seemed like she wasn't wearing any makeup, at all. The foundation unlike the ones I have used before actually stays put and doesn't appear cakey (at all). It has very light fragrance which is good for me, I don't know about you and I love it on my skin.
I am not trying to sell you this product or anything but it is just so good.
PROS AND CONS :
PROS:
Dermatologist tested and oil free (as mentioned in the box)
Gives a natural finish for everyday wear
Non sticky and the skin actually feels very smooth post application.
Covers blemishes and gives an almost full coverage
Blends really easily
A little goes a long way (I repeat.)
Leaves you with a semi-matte look. (I'm serious)
CONS:
Hmm.. the price may be a tad on the steeper side. Cost- Rs 4000
Oh, the finish isn't the same without the primer, so I'd suggest you get the primer alongside.
I got this Base Hydratante Hydrating Primer because I was told that my skin is dehydrated. They have a Green Primer which works great if you have redness issues. |
I have learnt that this foundation has been in stores for many years now, although the formula has been altered recently. They have also launched the Ultra HD foundation which I wish was available in India but that will probably take some time. So until then, if you're looking for a foundation which can work like magic, this could be it.
Head over to a Sephora near you and ask them to test it on your skin. If it works for you, you can thank me later but if it doesn't, maybe your skin type is different from mine.
Oh, I have a combination skin. Wait! I suppose that was to be mentioned in the beginning, right? Well, I told you it is my first review. Hope you liked it. :)
